Our family has a passion for the nations to be reached with the Gospel. So, we're helping reach the unreached by serving in Ethnos360 Home Office located in Sanford, FL.

You might be wondering, "How are you reaching the unreached if you aren't 'going' overseas?"...we would love to tell you how!

We will be directing "Encounter" and growing our organization's short-term trips. Several years ago Ethnos360 (formerly known as New Tribes Mission) had short term 'mission' trips called "Summit." These Summit trips sent hundreds of people every year and exposed them to the need of the world. Over the last several years, these trips have died out due to no one being able to maintain & adjust them as needed.

Now, our organization only sends around 30 people per year on one trip called Interface. Interface is an incredible program and mobilizes students every year, but for many students this 6-week trip is a big commitment.

Short-term 'mission' trips used to be the organization's number one mobilization tool to get people informed, exposed, and interested in being a part of God's heart for reaching the nations. We needed to see a change in this area in order to see more people take part in reaching the unreached.

2 These were his instructions to them: “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.

We are excited to say that some dear friends of ours working in a similar role have actually started to bring these trips back to life. The program is now called ‘Encounter’! Although these 2-week trips are up and running again, they have been in desperate need for someone else to take on the role of directing and coordinating the Encounter trips - one can only wear so many hats! That is why we are so thrilled that they have asked us to fill the position as Directors of Encounter!

We couldn't be more excited to use our God-given gifts to serve the organization and more-so the Church by growing the Encounter program. We pray that God will use us in a short time to establish these trips in multiple countries around the world.

 

As we thought about taking on this role, we realized just how close to home it is, because it was actually a short-term trip to Papua New Guinea (Interface) that the Lord used to challenge us into missions.

   Our vision for these Encounter trips are seen through the life of Jesus. The purpose of these trips are for students to Learn, Serve and Experience. We hope to show the need to people in the same way Jesus showed his disciples the need of the world. Jesus didn't just tell his disciples about the disabled or hurting. No, He physically took them to see those people, cry with them, hear their struggles, and hug them. This is the vision for these trips: for students to be exposed to the need first-hand and see what it will take to reach the least reached places of the world.
